Delves into new lows in mediocrity

// Synopsis: The Shinigami are beings who guide souls, that have been recorded into the Register of Souls to Hades, to the world of the dead. They are the employees of the Summons Division, which is an office directly under the control of Enma, the Emperor of the Underworld. The series focuses on one of these Shinigami named Asato Tsuzuki the most powerful, but loveable, laid-back and troubled of them all.

// Review: This is the only anime series that I’ve ever reviewed without watching all of the episodes so take this with a grain of salt. I will concede that maybe as a whole it might be decent, but what I watched was so bad, I’ll never know or care to find out. This is what you need to know about a major plot line: When the main bad guy was young before he turned evil, someone was about to kill him for some reason. But he was saved by another person who shot the assailant in the back killing him. Well the bad guy decides to save his would be killer’s head and makes it his mission in life to find a way to give the head a body so that he can resurrect him, just so the bad guy can kill that person himself. I’m totally serious. So he figures that the only body capable of being a host to the head is Asato who is supposed to be the most powerful Shinigami and yet always manages to get his ass kicked by Mr. Bad Guy regularly.

/ The creepy thing is that Mr. Bad Guy sort of has the hots for Asato and makes several homo-erotic passes at him and gets uncomfortably close and very touchie feelie on Asato.

/ The animation is lame. The dubbed voice acting is some of the worse I’ve heard. The theme song sounds like a drunk guy at a karaoke bar. The most outstanding thing about this anime is that the hospital in which the mad scientist is performing his experiments is the exact replica of the University of Texas tower and main building.

// Wrap up: There are a lot of fanboys floating around on the net, so at least some people liked this. I thought it sucked and was a waste of time.
