Star Wars Episode 3 : Revenge of the Sith
We now know the power of the dark side

// The skinny: We have always known how the story would end, but it was great to see how the pieces fell into place. All of the Jedi are killed (even the baby Jedi!), Luke and Leah are born while Padme dies, and Anakin finally becomes Vader.

// Review: Revenge of the Sith came two movies too late. This was the one fanboys dreamed of and the casual fans always expected. There is a balanced mix of storytelling, action, and jaw-dropping CGI. It's amazing that it was cheaper than Episode 2 while using more CGI than 1 and 2 combined.

/ This movie suffers from faults though they are forgivable: the directing is mediocre (Lucas says he rarely talks to the actors; bring back Empire Strikes Back Irv Kershner), the script cheesy (the opening had to have been written for a 3rd grader), and Hayden Christensen is still bad (he's the heir-apparent to Keannu). His transformation to the darkside ("what have I done?" to "yes master, I will now slaughter children and my friends master" in mere seconds) was more unbelievable than THE ROBOT WITH EMPHYSEMA. The movie seemed to move slowly in the beginning and I think everyone wishes they had spent that time on more Wookies.

/ If only 1 and 2 were this good, Lucas would be immortalized on the new $9 bill that will be used to watch over-priced movies. The exotic locales are stunning, the CGI is seemless, the battles were huge, the scenes with the Jedis betrayed were powerful, and the duels (designed by Spielberg) - espcially between Obi-Wan and Anakin were truly epic.

// Wrap up: A lot of why I liked this film has to do with the coolness of its Star Wars pedigree, but who cares? I am looking forward to watching this several more times; except for when Padme says, "hold me, like that time on the beach when there was only our love." I'd rather have a lightsaber enema.
