Lego Star Wars 2 // Xbox 360
The ones that started it all
// The skinny: Play
through Episodes 4-6 in a Legos constructed Star Wars universe in this
sequel.
// Review: Everything is cuter when
it smaller. Except when it relates to my thunder down under, when smaller
is just more tragic. Anyhow with Lego Star Wars 2, you get to play through
the good Star Wars movies. And by good let's all just agree that Return
of the Jedi never really happened.
/ All the things you enjoyed had you played the original is back. It
still has all of the charm that will attract the half pints to plays
as well as the nostalgia for the old guys. Travelers Tales inherently
this project, and they stayed true to the successful formula. The biggest
upgrade is that blaster users now have the dodge maneuver, which makes
them a highly viable playing option over saber-wielding Jedi's.
/ Like the first one, it's a breeze to play because you get unlimited
lives and the mini-puzzles aren't going to stump anyone. And unlike
the movies this game has genuine humor whether they are slapstick pratfalls
or they are making a parody of the classic cinematic moments. It still
suffers from the issues of co-op play sharing the same camera and screen,
which can be frustrating if you are playing along with a kid and he
doesn't stay together. And if you're the type who collects achievements,
there are a couple that are absolutely maddening.
// Wrap up: As fun as the first
version was, this is even better playing through the classic trilogy.
